For most of the country, this has been a particularly harsh winter that just won’t seem to go away. Snow, ice, rain, high winds, and brutally cold temperatures have taken their toll on us all.
It also can have an affect on your outdoor furniture. Even though you probably have rust proof or rust resistant seating and tables for your outdoor dining area, rust is not the only concern.
Excessive precipitation can saturate cast aluminum or iron frames causing water to get into small crevices in the metal. When the temperature drops, this water then freezes and can cause the metal to crack. The problem can be exacerbated by large swings in temperature over short periods of time.
For this reason, if your furniture has been out all winter, it is a good idea to inspect it closely, especially at frame joints, to insure there has not been any weather caused stressed.
If you haven’t had any issues with weather, it is still a good time to review your tables and chairs and determine if you will be needing any new product.
This time of year, there are still great deals to be had on last year’s dealer and manufacturers’ inventories.
Supplies are good and shipping times are short. As Spring approaches, these deals will dwindle and lead times will extend.
Its best to order what you will need before the warm weather rush.
Spring is only a few weeks away, but it can’t come soon enough!!!
